Choose a photo and the moment it could have been: dusk over the river, the city after midnight, first snow, a painted night. The same people, the same place, the way it felt.

The one rule

The people in a photo stay who they are.

Someone leaning on a wall by the river, looking at Westminster at sunset.
The same photo with the whole sky turned pink and orange.

Add a note

Write a short line before it is made, like "it had just rained", and it is taken into account.

Colour Splash

Keep one thing in colour and let the rest go grey. It runs on your phone.

What happens to your data

You don't need an account. Sign in with Apple only if you want your photos on a new phone, a shared album or to send a gift.

Your photo library stays on your phone. A photo leaves it only when you make a new one, and we don't keep it. Colour Splash never sends anything.

No ads, no advertising identifier, no third-party trackers.

Help

Takes

Each new photo uses one take. If a photo fails because of something on our side, its take comes back by itself.

A purchase that does not show

Open Settings in Retold and tap Restore purchases.

A new phone

Sign in with Apple on both phones, and your takes and the photos you kept follow you.

Changing or cancelling a membership

Open Settings in Retold and tap Manage subscription, which opens your Apple account. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to stop the next renewal.

Refunds

Apple takes every payment, so refunds are handled by Apple. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Deleting your data

In Settings, Forget this install removes the photos kept on your phone and deletes our record of the install. If you are signed in, the same screen can delete your account too. Any takes you have left go with it.
